snow in england

friday, 2010/12/03 10:27

if it snowed once in ten years, i would understand. but now they have at least a bit of snow every year and i really don’t get how it is possible to be so much surprised by it and don’t prepare for it at all. what is so difficult to get in advance – salt or sand? i saw about five handfuls last day in the street, but what’s the use of it – it was not spread like a normal person would do, no – it seems that somebody just took one handful, put in one spot, took another – put next to it and etc.

because of that one centimetre of snow the airports are getting closed, and i heard some people have to take a cab from sussex to london because there is no way trains could run under conditions like that.

all the time i walk home slipping to the sides, i think to myself what the strange country this is. really.

christmas math

thursdays, 2010/12/16 10:39

i’m spending my day signing the postcards for the clients. i should send out around one hundred, as my list of contacts says. are you interested in how many i’ve ordered? twenty! i guess i did a bit of a  miscalculation here.

I got a few more from the office administrator, but there will not be enough anyway. i do the selection using a simple method: looking at the names and trying to guess what is the possibility of these people siting close to each other. because if they do and i send the postcard to only one of them, it will not look nice. so much trouble with this christmas stuff.

oh, and i need it to be minus five in lithuania during the holiday season. if it’s only minus five, i will go kayaking. i think you all could help me with this – right after the christmas please keep all your windows open, so the heat from the houses goes outside and dilutes the cold. ok?
